In a nightclub, a man is approached by a girl who seduces him simply by taking her hand. After their antics, the young man dies as a result of the rupture of an artery and the person who comes out of the bathroom is actually a man. Mulder presents four other similar deaths to Scully. All victims, men and women, have an excess of pheromones. By following the scene of the deaths, Mulder goes back to a Massachusetts isolationist society, the Kindred. Scully and Mulder try to get in touch with this community with little success, but Scully manages to talk to one of them. Shaking her hand, she seems very disturbed. But it is not enough and they decide to enter the territory of the community ...
